Eric Ferring's recent engagements have included Tamino (The Magic Flute), Arturo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Pong (Turandot) and Royal Herald (Don Carlo) for The Metropolitan Opera, New York; Lurcanio (Ariodante) for the Opéra national de Paris and the Lyric Opera of Chicago; Lysander (A Midsummer Night's Dream) for the Opéra de Rouen Normandie; Fenton (Falstaff) in Santa Fe and Tamino for the Opéra national du Rhin.
In the 2023/24 season Eric returns to the Opéra de Rouen Normandie as Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), makes his debut with the Opéra de Lille in the same role, his debut at the Glyndebourne Festival as Camille, Count de Rosillon in a new production of The Merry Widow and sings Grimoaldo (Rodelinda) in an international concert tour with The English Concert and Harry Bicket.
Ferring recently released his debut solo album with pianist Madeline Slettedahl entitled No Choice but Love: Songs of the LGBTQ+ Community with Lexicon Classics. His next album, We have tomorrow, features chamber works by Barber, Beach, Brahms and Fauré with Madeline Slettedahl and Quatuor Agate and is released this autumn on the Delos label.
His performance in Chicago Lyric Opera’s production of I Pagliacci was nominated for and won a 2022 Emmy Award.
