About Xabier

Xabier Anduaga is one of the most exciting young talents in the opera world today and regularly appears at the top theatres worldwide. The Spanish tenor opened the season by making a major role debut in the new production of Rigoletto (Duca) at Teatro Real Madrid, after which he made house debuts at Wiener Staatsoper with Don Pasquale (Ernesto), where he will return soon for the revival of L'elisir d'amore (Nemorino), and Deutsche Oper Berlin with Anna Bolena (Percy). He also returned to Bayerische Staatsoper for the revival of Lucia di Lammermoor (Sir Edgardo di Ravenswood). Anduaga will conclude the season with a return to the Royal Opera House for Lucia di Lammermoor (Edgardo). In future seasons, he will make returns to Bayerische Staatsoper, Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Teatro Real Madrid, Wiener Staatsoper and Amigos Canarios de la Opera Las Palmas.

Recent appearances include a sensational debut at the Metropolitan Opera with L'elisir d'amore (Nemorino), new productions of Cosi fan tutte (Ferrando) and I Puritani (Arturo) at ABAO Bilbao Opera, La Sonnambula (Elvino) at Teatro Real Madrid and I Puritani (Arturo) at Teatro di San Carlo. He has recently worked with conductors such as Enrique Mazzola, Evelino Pido, Myung-Whun Chung, Josep Pons, Giacomo Sagripanti, Daniel Harding, Antonio Fogliani and Sir Antonio Pappano.
