Ollie Haines

Having gained a DfE Scholarship to Wells Cathedral School in 2011, Ollie studied trumpet, piano and composition and was awarded the Nathan Hewitt Trumpet Prize for “The most outstanding trumpet player.” In 2013, he gained a place at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, subsequently performing at the NatWest OSCA Awards for the England Cricket Team at Lords Cricket Ground, with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Simon Rattle in the premiere of Sir Peter Maxwell Davies’ last work, The Hogboon, and more recently for HRH The Earl of Wessex, Prince Edward and HRH The Honourable Lady Ogilvy, Princess Alexandra. Ollie also maintains an active performance schedule with Elysium Brass, with whom performances have included at the Barbican Sound Unbound Festival, multiple returns to Leicester International Music Festival as well as at the Festival de Torroella de Montgri in Spain amongst others. Ollie graduated in July 2017 with a BMus (Hons), and started his position at Askonas Holt in June 2017 after completing an internship at the Young Classical Artists Trust. Outside of music, he enjoys travelling and loves Italian food!
